Promoting Spiritual and Cultural Heritage

Birth anniversary of Bhagavan is celebrated with full spiritual fervour. Birth anniversaries of other spiritual stalwarts are also celebrated. Various social welfare activities are also carried out during these occasions. Classes on Vedanta are organised at regular intervals wherein the philosophy as well as its practical aspects are discussed which enable one to manifest the hidden inherent divinity. Being invited by various educational, social and religious institutions, members of the International Vedanta Society deliver speeches on various aspects of spiritual science which help to ignite the potential virtues. Seminars on Vedanta are organised which introduce the common mass to higher ideals and thoughts and enable them to have the taste of a better life. Regular periodicals, books, leaflets etc. are published from time to time.

In the Field of Education

IVS organizes special free education centre for poor and downtrodden children. International Vedanta Society helps many a needy students to get admission in schools and colleges.

Books and other study materials are donated to the downtrodden students from time to time. To attract the students to schools, IVS gifts foot wears to small children.

Health Care

• IVS organizes free medical camps for poor patients on various occasions.
• Life saving medicines are donated to the poor and old patients.
• IVS stands as a hope for many poor children, ailing elderly destitude whom the society provides free medications, Doctor's attention etc. from time to time.

Other Welfare Activities

• Cloths are distributed among the poor and downtrodden.
• Fruits are distributed among patients of the indoor wards of various hospitals.
• Food packets are distributed on various occasions.
• Financial aid are given to poor and needy families from time to time.
• Woolen wears and blankets are distributed during winter.
• On some occasions to help the shelterless, IVS helps to build and renovate their old and thatched houses.
• Massive Daridra Narayana Seva are performed from time to time.

Publications

IVS publishes different literatures with a view to create an awareness about our rich culture thereby rejuvenating the society in the light of honesty, dedication and sacrifices.

Besides all these activities, International Vedanta Society is starving hard to provide a suitable environment to each and every individual with a view to manifest his benevolent virtues which are already hidden within.

Media Coverage

IVS is getting recognition from the print and electronic media especially from North-Eastern, Eastern and Northern belt. Many articles and news on IVS were published from time to time. Articles written by members of IVS are also published in the editorial page of many esteemed dailies including the Times of India. Various news, articles were published in the Hindustan Times, Dainik Jagaran, Amar Ujala, Aaj, Rastriya Sahara and Sahara Samay etc. In the Northeast, news and articles on IVS were published in The North East Times, The Sentinel, The Evening Mail from Shillong etc. Two articles following the aims, Objectives and Achievements of IVS with coloured photos were published in the Sunday supplementary section of the Assam Tribune.
