![]() Today Bhagavan called one of His devotees. The devotee touched His feet and He started to say "We should continuously do our duties. In the path there will come lots of obstacles. But it should not be stopped for that. Hindrances not to be avoided but to cross over. Mind must not dominate us, we ourselves need to dominate our minds. To do a great work we require intense desire, determination and devotion." 6th August, 1989, Wednesday One of the devotees asked Bhagavan how he will help others, to answer that Bhagavan said "Only help those who have nobody to help and who need help too much. Who has his family and affluent relatives, to go to help him is verily a mistake. It makes him greedy. For this his tendency to ask for help increases. Proper religion teaches a man to stand on his own feet." 11th September, 1989, Monday A devotee was seating in front of Bhagavan's feet. Today Bhagavan was talking about Mind. He has been telling "Mind is nothing but a collection of thoughts. If you think a bit deeply, then you will see that these thoughts are nothing but worldly objects, whom we think more costly than ourselves. But whenever we know ourselves more costly than these worldly objects, thenceforth we will see that, this desire which is the cause of our sorrows and pains has disappeared. Then we could become the occupier of full peace." Bhagavan said "Atman is a motionless stage upon which our thoughts and desires are dancing. Like a wave our thoughts are once coming down to touch the plane of Atman and again goes above. When by the intense attraction of Guru this thought wave will merge with Atman then destruction of mind will happen and then we will become perfect and ideal human." 24th September, 1989, Sunday 10 O'clock in the morning. A devotee came and touched Bhagavan's feet and Bhagavan asked him to sit down. When the devotee sat in his place Bhagavan told with a bold voice "Be brave, fearless. Always try to speak the truth. People of the world always pleases others to try to fulfill their greeds. But who always stays in truth, and never try to please others in return of their idealism, his path is full of thorns. But the first path is temporary, who chooses this path, destruction is sure to them. Pedestrians of the second path become immortal." ![]() Today Bhagavan told about Guru-tattva "Nirguna Brahamn cannot do anything. Because there is no second object. To do some work or to help anybody or to inspire anybody Nirguna Brahamn has to take help of Saguna Brahman, because without a medium there is no way to do anything only with knowledge. Like a doctor is not enough with doctor's knowledge, to cure the disease the help of medicine, knife and other instruments need to be taken. Similarly to destroy the ignorance of an ignorant Nirguna Brahamn is included with Guna and takes him to Nirguna. As soon as ignorance is destroyed Nirguna goes back to His nature. Then as it was. Guru is a bridge between Saguna Brahamn and Nirguna Brahamn. He goes to Nirguna and returns and includes Guna and destroys the darkness of ignorance of the disciple. Destroying the ignorance of the disciple Guru makes him understand that this Nirguna Brahamn is his real nature. Uses and needs of the Vedas, Upanisads and scriptures are to destroy devotee's ignorance or ego and to make him reach to his real nature." 1st April, 1994, Friday Bhagavan said "Creator behind the creation to be seen. It will be a mistake to see the creation. To test myself standing inside the world, the scale will be selflessness. The more one is selfless the more he is developed. Each and every breath to be taken for others. Being selfless if the work is done for others then that will be proper work. It will be wrong to do for myself. In dual state there will be "I" and "Guru", in non-dual "I". So there arises no question of anybody in any situations. It will be a mistake whenever there comes anybody else. Spirituality is not a gymnastics of intellects it is life. To become (ideal) throughout the life. Work to be done for Guru, for human beings." 6th August, 1994, Saturday "To understand the world needs to go outside the world. The world of manifestation needs to be understood going beyond manifestations. To understand thyself one has to cross thyself, has to go beyond moods. Any mood is pollution. All moods are polluted. A lady is a mother to her child; again she is a wife to her husband. If she is mother then how can she be wife? She will always remain as mother. So the whole world is standing on pollution. Till the knowledge of sixth plane it is polluted because that is also under manifestation." ![]() In the afternoon Bhagavan was speaking these words sitting at the corridor of His house "Anybody in his place is right. Both the rose and the Gandā(Marigold) are there in a garland. The rose has to remember that two Gandās have made him rose. The first boy of a class has to remember that other 70 students have made him first. Those 70 boys cannot be ignored. If he was alone then who would become first? So each and everybody are right in their places. If a Jabā(Hibiscus) tree says, I shall become like a Palm tree, then it will be odd-looking. Jabā tree has to grow like a Jabā tree. It has to become beautiful in its own shape." 24th September, 1994, Saturday 10 O'clock in the morning. A devotee went to Bhagavan's office to meet Him. During the gaps of working hours Bhagavan was talking with him. To talk about His own spiritual realization Bhagavan said "Remember, he is powerful who can make himself awake reaching closer to Atman. He is more powerful who is able to keep a separate existence of himself while being near to Brahman. When Swamiji told that he wants to be immerged in Samadhi forever like Shukdeva then Thakur Ramakrishnadeva said about this very state that it is a bigger state than to remain in Samadhi forever. It indeed is that 'An I is floating over the ocean of Brahman'*, which I had realized." * I have realized one day In the ocean of Atman, body is the boat and mind is the boatman. It moves by the help of Atman. On an another day, I was floating over the ocean of Brahman, only a small piece of mind was there, nothing else was there. Sri Bhagavan Ubacha(Bengali), Page-169. March, 1995 "When a knife is placed idle then it understands that it is placed idle. When somebody comes and holds it then it understands that it has been held. When He(God) holds me then I understand that He just held me. Then not even I know that what He will do. When I am left idle then I am helpless. But when He holds me then I know that He can do whatever He wishes to." 23rd June, 1995, Friday Bhagavan Said "Only the Self realized persons are the most smart. When a disciple becomes qualified then the Guru asks him to come near and speaks about the ideology of Brahman. The disciple should listen that minutely. Whatever the Guru says the disciple should follow that in toto. The language of Guru and disciple is of love. This ideology moves from heart to heart. Guru distributes the ideology of Brahman verily being settled in Brahman. The more the love of the devotee towards Guru increases the more this ideology gets clearer to the devotee. A devotee should devote himself at the feet of Guru. ![]() Seeing Bhagavan was being speaking continuously, a question aroused in the mind of some devotee isn't it troubling for Him to remain in peaceful state while speaking too much or while dealing with this world? Being asked this question He replied "Seeing from outside the waves of 10 miters over the ocean it seems that how restless the ocean is, but in comparison with the miles after miles unmoving water down the ocean how much is that restlessness of 10 miters?". 5th September, 1995, Tuesday "Awaken, dream, deep slumber, and then samādhi. Dream is not true. Because I have seen the tiger was killed by the gun. This tiger, gun and fear is created in mind, so is temporary. Awaken state is also similar to dream. And then sūshūpti. But that is not true also, because nothing remains there, nothing is understood. But someone else gives witness of this sūshūpti. Who gives witness, he is Atman. But he does not disclose himself. Like we see this world by eyes, now to catch this eye we need to close eyes. When seeing the world is stopped then eye is understood. Similar is the case of Atman." 17th January, 1997, Friday Today Bhagavan described about His divine establishment thus "I have no vibration. I always remain verily as parambrahman. Whoever comes to me, I become alike with his emotions. This is being discussed today because you have such emotions. When there is nobody, I remain vibration less. Again when somebody comes I am vibrated in his vibration exactly like a crystal." "Knowledge itself illuminates everything. Everything we do, understand by verily the help of knowledge. But knowledge is self illuminator. Like the light illuminates everything. We are able to see everything by the help of light. But we cannot understand light. To understand light we have to stop seeing outside. When seeing wall, table will be stopped only then you will understand light. Knowledge itself is knowing everything. But it comes to us I indeed am knowing everything this is ego. This 'I' itself is ego. If this ego goes aside everything is knowledge itself. This is verily Brahmavijρana." 22nd February, 1997, Saturday Today Bhagavan is with intense dispassion. He said "This world is a place of ungratefuls. Everybody wants to make full of his own, even by cheating if needed. Only ones or twos are born in this world who only loves truth. Loving truth nothing additional is gained, only truth is gained. But for that one has to get thrust from the world. You will become alone. But your loneliness is your power. When you will see that you have got thrust, became alone, then you will find yourself more powerful, have stood on more truth." ![]() One day Bhagavan, established on the highest state of spiritual world, disclosed a subtle truth in front of the devotees. He said "I have been at the threshold all day long today. This is not Samādhi, it is the door to the origin. All day long I went myself at the door of Samādhi. The 'I' of myself is lost in Samādhi. I had kept hold on the 'I' of myself there. Do you know how? Suppose you are standing over a volcano, like that. Sometimes it is attracting (inside Samādhi), sometimes repulsing (outside). It is a more difficult state. Like a very powerful magnet is attracting the iron, but though the iron has gone very closer to the magnet yet it is keeping a distance from it. It is the power of that very iron." 30th August, 1997, Saturday To describe the very difficult Guru-tattva Bhagavan said today "Mind has seven stages. Normally mind remains at the lower three stages. When mind goes up to the fourth stage then realization starts. Then a Samādhi happens and after remaining there for some times the mind comes down to some extent. Latter the mind continues going up gradually to that stage of realization and settles there. Then the mind gets the tendency of going upper than this and finally the mind dilutes at the stage of nirvikalpa. But there are some rare Sādhakas(accomplishers) of highest level who directly goes up to the stage and comes back after remaining there for some times or He sends back. These persons become teacher of mankind and the wellbeing of mankind is done by them. The mind after being merged there comes down to some extent and again continues going up gradually to that stage and settles there. Only then the proper wellbeing is done. But there is a place more above than this which is called 'Guru' and He comes down to whomever, he is verily the real Guru. The sage established on Brahman is also considered as Jagat-guru, but that incident happens to Him whom He(God) makes Guru." 8th December, 1997, Monday "He is guru who reveals this knowledge, know Him as the condensed form of existence, consciousness and bliss. Attend Him to your hearts brim. Everything is to be offered to His feet. Everything! Loving the guru is only the highest in this path. You need to be mad for guru. Then it will work. Narendranath Dutta(Swami Vivekananda in future) became mad for Thakur(Ramakrishna). Acharya Shankara became mad. Once you have become mad for guru, love will come. Love need to come. But for that you need to be a slave of guru. He will put you on His seat holding your hand. Narendranath Dutta became Thakur's slave. So Swamiji is after Thakur. Hanuman was Rama's slave. So Hanuman is after Rama." A very beautiful divine mood was manifested in Bhagavan while He was talking spiritual talks. He said "God is shameless indeed. Everybody humiliates Him, yet God runs after them. God is shameless. Haldar Bamun kicked Thakur at Dakshineswar. I am also shameless. So many tortures were done over me. But I cannot help talking. I have run after everybody's door. God can hide everything of His but love. He moans to give devotion, moans to give love. Had not God been tolerated this pain man would have become mad." ![]() "You have to be the best sanyasins. Stand on God. He will provide everything. 'Yogakshemam Bahāmyaham'. If anybody gives money, understand that God has aroused this intension in him, so love God more than ever. If you start loving that person for money, then it will be a mistake." 21st February, 1998, Saturday Bhagavan has described the primary motive of International Vedanta Society to His devotees "Ātmano Mokshārtham Jagaddhitāya Cha" (Realisation of the Self and Well-being of the Universe), always remember this. "Atmano Mokshartham" (Realisation of the Self) is required; otherwise only "Jagaddhitaya" will make you a pauper for name and fame. That is verily dull. And again without "Jagaddhitaya" only "Atmano Mokshartham" will make you a spiritual dull. So a balance is needed. Always take care of this. You have to pay the world. Who thinks for others, know that he does not have any want. 13th April, 1998, Monday Bhagavan is in IVS building today. After the lunch He called the devotees. He is in very good mood today. He was speaking very slowly. He continued speaking "Brahman, Atman is one subject. But there is something beyond that, which cannot be established by logics or arguments. That is Shakti tattva. Without finding out this power nobody can do any big work, nobody can become lover. Think carefully the incident of Swamiji in Kshir Bhavani temple. Such a great Jnani is worshipping there with the blood of chest. And after this event the beauty of His spiritual live is blossomed. Acharya Shankara has to obey the Power at some time. This state comes at the extreme point of knowledge and their(of these sages) calling for 'Mother' is very dangerous. This very Mother is acting behind everything in this world. She is behind everything and She has come to make us understood this. It was all right without disclosing this, but it is Her wish, She will disclose. So She has been vouchsafed Herself. This is the most beautiful thing of Her. Had not She been disclosed it the world would have ended with miseries and sufferings. She does Her work Herself. When your intelligence will be rectified, then you will be able to hear Her command. This power is called 'Mother'. She is the performer of creating, sustaining and destroying. She has already settled everything. What will happen in future, She will settle. She will make us do the work. Our job is to become a tool of Her hand. Once I said till there is thought one has to call 'Mother, Mother'. Thoughts must come, so remain as being focused on source." 29th April, 1998, Wednesday When devotee asked Bhagavan about Purushottam-tattva, He replied "There is no knowledge beyond Ajātavāda. But Purushottam-tattva is a completely different chapter. There is an originality of keeping an existence of the self beyond Brahman. That is beyond the perishable and imperishable. Suppose there is a fish inside the sea. It does not dilute any more. It is Guru. He descends into whomever; it burns His body, mind. Into whomever He descends, He is Avatār(incarnation)." ![]() Bhagavan is in IVS building today. He was reading and describing 'Yoga Vāshistha Sāra' to the devotees in the evening. He was saying that among the knower of Brahman only some rare eligible persons attain this knowledge of Ajātavāda. He said "For this always keep an watch to your vrittis." One of the devotees asked whether it is required to destroy the vrittis. Bhagavan said "It is not required to destroy the vrittis. Suppose you are standing at a slightly high place. Only bellow two feet many poisonous snakes are swarming and trying to bite you suddenly. What will you do then? Stir them continuously with a staff. Then their free movement will be interrupted. They will remain disturbed and will not be able to elevate with hood. There is no need to kill them. Similarly each and every thought of ours is like a poisonous snake. Those thoughts need to be destroyed. If you only keep a watch like the witness then they will lose the power to disturb you. So it is not problematic even if vritti remains." 12th August, 1999, Thursday Bhagavan came to His devotees of Varanasi on 9th of this month from Kolkata. He said to the devotees just after rising from sleep "It has been a very good sleep at night. Who told it has been a very good sleep? Who witnessed the sleep? That means somebody was awake. He is Brahma. In sushupti he is conscious though being as unconscious, even after waking up he is conscious as alike, verily he is knowledge. This river of knowledge is always flowing inside like the Ganges. But it cannot be caught. Only by a bit of discrimination it could be caught. Discrimination leads to that place at once. But discrimination is very difficult. For that, it is said in the scriptures this path is for rare eligible persons. It is getting the fruit by swooping like a bird. So it is called Bihangam Mārg(Bird's Path). The other ways such as meditation, chanting, sravana-manana-nididhyāsana, bhakti also reaches there but that is time taking activity. So it is called Pipilikā Mārg(Ant's Path)." |
